TMD in South Brunswick
Temporo-mandibular disorders (TMD) are disorders of the jaw muscles, temporo-mandibular joints (jaw joints or TMJ’s), and/or the nerves associated with chronic facial pain and difficulty chewing. Any problem that prevents the complex system of muscles, bones and joints from working together in harmony may result in temporo-mandibular disorder. This is a common problem often precipitated by bruxism (the unconscious clenching or grinding of the teeth).
Drs. Meade and Hirschlag have had extensive post-graduate continuing education in the diagnosis and treatment of TMD at the L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Studies.
All the dentists at Doctors of Dental Medicine have had many years experience treating temporo-mandibular disorders.
