Although regular brushing and flossing could help keep your pearly whites in tip-top shape, spending long hours and staying late in the office may actually make you forget about keeping your teeth and gums as healthy as possible. Office Dental Trap #1: Too much coffee or tea.

Coffee and tea are top tooth-staining culprits. In addition, the sugar you add in these drinks may build up in between teeth and lead to dental caries and plaque.

The Action Plan: Swish water in your mouth in between sips of coffee and tea or right after drinking them.

Office Dental Trap #2: Overflowing sugary snacks.

The Action Plan: Set a limit as to the amount of sugary snacks you can munch on the whole day.

Office Dental Trap #3: Forgetting to practice good oral hygiene.

The Action Plan: Set aside a separate office toothbrush in a dry container. To remind you about it throughout the day, keep it visible in your table. A post-it note reminding you to brush and floss may also come in handy!
