Cosmetic Dentistry

Your smile says more about you than any words can. Bleaching, direct bonding, porcelain veneers, orthodontics, and even periodontics are all disciplines enabling Doctors of Dental Medicine to enhance your calling card to the world -- your smile.

Dental bleaching is a safe, easy way to significantly lighten your teeth and brighten your smile. Once comfortable-to-wear bleaching trays are custom fabricated and we instruct you on the easy application of the bleaching gel, mere minutes per day for approximately 2 weeks is all that is required to dramatically whiten your teeth and bring a new pizzazz to your smile. We offer in-office, one session Zoom! professional whitening.

Direct bonding utilizes a tooth-colored composite resin to reconstruct your teeth. Bonding is often used to replace metallic silver-colored fillings, and can also be used to lighten your teeth and correct imperfections in size, shape, and in some cases position of your teeth. Dental bonding is completed in just one visit. The results are very natural, and last approximately five years (or more) depending upon your dental habits.

Porcelain veneers are thin laminates of porcelain that are bonded to the surface of teeth to correct color, size, shape, and position of teeth. Porcelain is most similar to tooth enamel so it can be used to create the ultimate aesthetic reconstruction of your smile. The procedure may take 2 or 3 visits and you may be fitted with temporary veneers between visits. Porcelain veneers retain their natural beauty considerably longer than bonding.

Orthodontics can reposition your teeth to enhance your smile. If one or two teeth are out of position we can realign them with Invisalign Braces -- which do not utilize conventional brackets and wires. This procedure is comfortable and virtually undetectable. Patients requiring moderate to severe repositioning would be referred to an orthodontist for consultation.

Periodontal procedures (gingivectomy, gingivoplasty, and gingival grafts) may also improve the aesthetics of your smile. The relationship of the teeth to the gum-line is important in developing an attractive smile. A "gummy" smile or an uneven gum line can detract from otherwise beautiful teeth. Periodontal procedures are no more difficult to sit through than a conventional filling. The post-operative discomfort is minor and easily relieved by over-the-counter analgesics. To improve the smiles of patients with severely receding gum lines and large spaces between the teeth, we can fabricate a prosthesis called a gingival mask. It is comfortable to wear and virtually impossible to detect by others.

Everyone's smile is different and requires individual consideration. Photos and models of your mouth are used to determine the most appropriate procedures for your particular needs. Using digital technology, we can enhance a picture of your smile to demonstrate the intended results.
